Why Comprehensive Cancer Care is Important

Frankly Speaking About Cancer

Dr. Richard Zakheim

REMEMBERING DR. RICHARD M. ZAKHEIM

As an original founder of the Cancer Support Community Greater Miami, Dr. Zakheim was a driving force in creating our organization since its inception in 1999. With his wife by his side, CSCGM Founder & President, Pam Zakheim, he served on countless leadership committees and was an active member of our Board of Directors. His unwavering dedication as a volunteer helped to create a haven for thousands of cancer patients and their loved ones. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in his honor to the Cancer Support Community – an important cause so very close to his heart.

Book Club: Living Beautifully With Uncertainty and Change - by Pema Chodron
Tuesday, September 1st, 8th and 15th, 1 - 2 pm – Cancer Support Community Greater Miami
Facilitator: Peggy Rios, Ph.D.
Program Director
Cancer Support Community Greater Miami

Is it possible to live well when the very ground we stand on is shaky? Yes, says everyone's favorite Buddhist nun, Pema Chodron. It is even possible to live beautifully, compassionately, and happily on shaky ground - and the secret is: "the ground is always shaky". Pema Chodron teaches about the three commitments for embracing the chaotic, uncertain, dynamic, challenging nature of our situation as a path to inner peace and awakening. Her teachings are based on Buddhist principles but applicable to all persons of all faiths. The discussions will focus on the application of these principles and not on religious practices. Patients/Survivors and loved ones are welcome!
