Cancer Support Community Greater Miami
is urging its participants and friends to
join the nation in putting on their favorite
blue jeans on October 8 as part of Lee
National Denim Day. Funds raised will
benefit cancer education and support
programs and breast cancer research
nationwide. The 2010 Lee National Denim Day
Ambassador is actor Felicity Huffman.
Denim Day, now in its 15th year, has united
millions nationwide in the fight against
breast cancer. A portion of funds raised
will come back to the Cancer Support
Community Greater Miami. Funds also
support some of the nation’s most promising
early detection and treatment research, and
the Women’s Cancer Programs of the
Entertainment Industry Foundation (EIF).
“We all know someone affected by cancer, and
Denim Day is an easy way for anyone in Miami
to get involved in this important cause,”
says CSCGM’s founder Pam Zakheim.
“Participation is so simple -- all you have
to do is wear jeans and give $5.00.” Please
call CSCGM at 305.668.5900 and ask
for Theresa Jacome at ext. 228 for more
information.

We have some exciting
news! We are changing our name to: Cancer Support
Community.
This name change is the result of The Wellness
Community-National merging with the National arm of
Gilda’s Club. That merger, on the National level, has
provided us with the opportunity to make this change. We
believe that our new name better reflects what we do.
Nothing else has changed. We still offer
the same wide range of support services we have always
offered, and they will continue to be provided free of
charge. We are still an independent 501(c)3, non-profit
organization, registered with the State of Florida and
governed by our local Board of Directors. All donations
we receive are completely tax deductible, and all money
raised in Miami stays in Miami.
Please click here
for additional information about the National merger, or
call us should you have any questions (305-668-5900).
Best regards,
Pamela K. Zakheim, M.Ed.
